About

Welcome to the 'I just love that...' website.

If you have ended up here, chances are that you are a passionate soul who takes pleasure in wearing and possibly collecting fashionable items. I hope you share your thoughts with us in the forum and relish in just how many like-minded creatures there are out there.

This all began when I was working on quite different books, "The Enchanted Dolls' House Series", which featured some gorgeous accessories. So many comments came back to me regarding those books, but one that I heard quite often was, “I just love those shoes”. I couldn’t have agreed more; I had found it fascinating researching and illustrating the vintage shoes that were in those books. It also made me realise that, although it seemed too good to be true, I could devote a whole book title to shoes — what heaven! One title grew to three as it became clear that as well as having a ‘thing’ for shoes, we also adore hats, and we can’t resist a good bag! Since completing the accessories trio I have realised that there is no end to our beautiful obsessions, so the titles will keep coming.

My own shoe collection reveals the most about me. I have far more shoes than any other single item of fashion — not that you could call me ‘Imelda’.

My preferred first shoes of the day are ones close to my heart — my running shoes, and after I’ve given them a good work out accompanied by my gorgeous four-legged friend, I’m ready to decide how I might ‘dress up’ for the rest of the day.

One of the great things about my job is that most days I can wear whatever I feel like, which are often thongs — and I have too many pairs! However, the weather is not always kind to bare feet in Melbourne so I do own several pairs of groovy runners and sweet flats. I also possess numerous other shoes, ones with heels, the sort I can’t resist. They aren’t so good for running anywhere but, boy, can they take me places. Transformation — a heel will do it every time, and with just three clicks…
